[PRESENTATION] Cacao agroforestry practices in the SFITAL site in North Luwu, Indonesia

As part of its series of training of trainers (TOT) on agroecological practices for environment-friendly and climate resilient cacao cultivation, the Sustainable Farming in Tropical Asian Landscapes (SFITAL) Project conducted a TOT on Soil Health and Fertility Management as Agroecological Practice for Cacao Cultivation last 26-27 June 2024 in Nabunturan, Davao de Oro. Over 30 field extensionists, farmer leaders, and representative from partner academic institutions were trained during this activity.

During the TOT, Endri Martini, Agroforestry Systems and Extension Scienctist of the Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF) in Indonesia, also shared cacao agroforestry practices that can be observed in the SFITAL sites in North Luwu, Indonesia.

This slide deck provdes a basic overview of the brief condition and issues in cacao agroforestry systems in the North Luwu District of South Sulawesi Province in Indonesia, as well as the general cacao management practices in the district. It also presents the interventions applied in the site to improve the soil fertility.
