As part of its series of training of trainers (TOT) on agroecological practices for environment-friendly and climate resilient cacao cultivation, the Sustainable Farming in Tropical Asian Landscapes (SFITAL) Project conducted a TOT on Soil Health and Fertility Management as Agroecological Practice for Cacao Cultivation last 26-27 June 2024 in Nabunturan, Davao de Oro. Over 30 field extensionists, farmer leaders, and representative from partner academic institutions were trained during this activity.
The presentations during the TOT also included soil and water conservation as agroecological practice for cacao cultivation. Erwin Albios, SFITAL Philippines’ agroforestry coordinator for Davao de Oro, presented this topic.
