A review of the governance of value chains and the environmental and social management systems for cacao for sustainable production and processing practices: The case of Davao de Oro, Philippines

In line with its goal to identify and design supportive value chain governance arrangements, policy and regularulatory environments at regional, national, and local levels, the Sustainable Farming in Tropical Asian Landscapes (SFITAL) Project investigated the governance of the cacao value chain in Davao de Oro province, together with related environmental and socail management systems.

This study looks into the governance of the cacao value chain in Davao de Oro. It involved smallholder farmers, local buyers, traders and consolidators, and enabling institutions.
