In the Philippines, SFITAL is being implemented by a team based in Center for International Forestry Research-World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF) Philippine Country Programme. They are also working under the supervision of the Project Investigator for SFITAL at the regional level.

Rachmat Mulia
Principal Investigator
Rachmat Mulia is an agroforestry and sustainable landscape scientist who has more than 15 years of experience linking the development of sustainable agriculture and forestry practices, both at farm and landscape scale, with rural food security, farmer’s resilience to climate change, and ecosystem services to include carbon and water services, and biodiversity. Thanks to different projects that he has led or has been participating in, he also has experience in developing green growth action plan at a provincial scale and associated modelling.

Zarrel Gel Noza
Project Coordinator for the Philippines
Zarrel is a researcher focusing on communications and extension. She recently took over as the Project Coordinator of the Project, leading the conduct of field activities and engagement with local and national stakeholders. She is also leading Component 4 of SFITAL, where she is responsible for the design and implementation of knowledge management and communication plans, developing knowledge management systems and communication materials. She also provides communication and editorial assistance with some of the deliverables of the country programme. Zarrel holds a degree in development communication from the University of the Philippines Los Baños.

Erwin Albios
Agroforestry Facilitator / Site Coordinator
Erwin is ICRAF Philippines’ site coordinator for SFITAL in Davao de Oro, Mindanao. He coordinates and directs field activities in the said site, liaising with the Project Coordinator, specialists, researchers, and other key stakeholders. Erwin has a degree in Agroforestry Technology from the Misamis Oriental State College of Agriculture and Technology in Northern Mindanao, Philippines.

Grace Ann Salvan
Researcher – Payments for Ecosystem Services / Component 3 Leader
Grace is a researcher focusing on the development of co-investments or payments for ecosystem services (PES) schemes that would financially support sustainable natural resources management. She holds a master’s degree in environmental science which she obtained from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Based at the CIFOR-ICRAF Philippine Country Program Office at the International Rice Research Institute, Los Banos, Laguna, in the Philippines, she leads Component 3 of SFITAL.

Isabelle Claire Dela Paz
Communication Associate
Isabelle is the Communication Associate of SFITAL. She assists in the implementation of the Project’s communication and knowledge management plans, and documentation of activities on the Project’s communication platforms. Isabelle holds a degree in Forestry from the University of the Philippines Los Baños, specializing in Urban Forestry and Agroforestry.
